MD and PhD from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (1989 / 1994) and specialist in pediatrics and pediatric oncohematology (1993). I did a postdoctoral stay in the laboratory of Dr. Curt Civin at Johns Hopkins (1994-1997), from which I returned to Spain to the laboratory of Dr. Juan Bueren at CIEMAT (1998-2000). I was a researcher of the Miguel Servet program until 2003, at which time I joined the Oncohematology Service of the Hospital Universitario Niño Jesús. Since then I have created the Advanced Therapy Unit of the hospital, the Oncohematology Diagnostics Unit of the hospital and I am in charge of the Oncohematology Research laboratory. In 2018 I spent one year as Visiting Scientist at Seattle Childrens Research Institute in the program of Advanced Engineering of Lymphocytes directed by Prof. Michael Jensen.
