Lola studied Chemistry at the UAM and soon after finishing her studies, she moved to London (UK) where she focus on the molecular pathways that regulate the proliferation and fate determination of mammalian cells at Prof. Beach’s lab at the WIBR-UCL, using a MoFlo High Speed Cell Sorter. Since them she have been working in flow cytometry and cancer. After 6 years at UCL she joined the LRI-CRUK as the Deputy Head of the FACS Lab head by Derek Davies.
On July 2009 she returned to Madrid to head the flow cytometry core at the CNIO.
Lola have been an active member of ISAC, CTLS and SIC serving on different committees and boards of these societies. Her main interest is to promote flow cytometry following good practices and have developed and participated in many training activities related to flow cytometry and core facilities over the years.
Her other passions are traveling and practising sports, particularly hiking who have bring her to summit many peaks over the years.
