Andreia Miranda is a PhD candidate in Biomedical Sciences conducting research at Yvette van Kooyk’s Lab (Amsterdam UMC) and José A. Ferreira’s team (IPO-Porto). She was awarded a FCT-PhD fellowship and a European Federation of Immunological Societies (EFIS) grant to study tumor-specific protein glycosylation and its role in immune crosstalk and evasion, aiming to identify novel immunotherapy targets.
At van Kooyk’s Lab, she is characterizing the immune profile of human gastric tumors using spectral flow cytometry in collaboration with Juan Garcia Vallejo. In the Ferreira Lab, she investigates how immature glycosylation modulates the tumor microenvironment by shaping dendritic cell and macrophage responses. Additionally, she applies proteomics approaches to identify immune receptors that recognize tumor glycoproteins associated with immune escape.
Andreia holds a master’s degree in Medicine and Molecular Oncology (2021) and a Biochemistry degree (2019) from the University of Porto.
